San Diego Residents Open World's Largest Used Yacht Brokerage in Southern California
Boatshed - the largest used yacht brokerage in the world with 70 locations in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Mediterranean and the Carribean - has opened locations in San Diego and Newport Beach California. Nearly 250,000 clients currently registered worldwide with the Boatshed system will have access to boats listed by the Boatshed San Diego office. Boatshed San Diego is owned and operated by Carlsbad residents JD and Suzanne Morris, and Doug and Laura Macklem. They are in the process of recruiting and hiring a minimum of 12 sales agents to cover protected sales territories within San Diego County.
"San Diego is a world-class yacht destination and is a prime location for us to operate a local business with an International reach," said Suzanne Morris. "Our motto is we are proud to be local, but lucky to be global."
Utilizing a custom-built, state-of-the-art yacht brokerage and customer management software system, Boatshed San Diego is able to capture and communicate top quality information about each boat they list. In order for a boat to be listed in the Boatshed system, a member of the staff must personally visit the boat and take up to 70 photos. This information is also fed into more than a dozen MLS listing services worldwide.
"We know that our clients' time is valuable and selling a boat can be stressful, so we take every measure to ensure they are sold quickly and efficiently with as little traffic on their boat as possible," added Morris. "We do this by personally visiting every boat and taking a detailed and honest written and photographic account of the boat."
There are 250 unique visitors per second viewing the more than 2,200 listings on Boatshed. Because of the level of detail in the photos and written information, it takes an average of 2.2 showings to sell a Boatshed listing. Each viewing is personally accompanied by a Boatshed San Diego team member.
"We can provide the kind of access to buyers that most brokerages cannot," said Morris. "The boating industry is an important one to San Diego and we look forward to making it even more dynamic with our International connections."
